A Day For Your Dog At Country Lane Pet Hotel

What sets Mancuso’s Country Lane Pet Hotel & Training Center apart from a typical kennel is the stress-free environment within which our guests relax.  Since the business began over 29 years ago in our own house, we have always been able to keep our daily routine very much like that of our guests' typical household.

Each dog enjoys an individual indoor room for privacy. (All areas are climate-controlled) Outdoor time comes at least four times a day in our large fenced area.  Guests may play and meet other dogs throughout each day (under supervision), and are always within sight and sound of staff, which is why there is no nuisance barking.

There are no bare concrete floors or runs, and we do not hose down pens to clean.  The floors and walls of each room are ceramic tile, and we insist  that all dogs have bedding, whether brought from home or ours.  All floors and rooms are vacuumed and sanitized daily.  Basically the dogs experience the same sights and sounds that they do at home, so they relax, feel secure, and are not stressed out from a frantic "shelter atmosphere."

A Day in the Life

6:00 AM
Dogs awake for their first outdoor break of the day. Guests spend approximately 15-20 minutes in the outdoor fenced area for some social time and bathroom needs. Indoors, rooms are checked for any that need immediate attention to cleaning and fresh water is given to all.

7:30 AM
Breakfast is served. Puppies are fed first, then the adult guests. Dogs not scheduled to eat a breakfast are offered a portion of their dinner or a snack so they are not watching their neighbor eat while they get nothing! Water bowls are checked and filled. Any dog requiring a morning medication gets it at this time.

8:00 AM
Puppies and older dogs that cycle quickly with their bathroom needs are taken out immediately after eating breakfast.

9:00 AM
The main cleaning of the day takes place. All rooms are vacuumed, hand-wiped, and sanitized. Bedding, chews, and toys are reorganized. Guests are given outside time once again while their rooms are freshened up. Water bowls are sanitized and filled with fresh water.

1:00 PM
Now the real fun begins! Hotel guests enjoy an afternoon of supervised playgroups of similar personalities, sizes, and activity levels. Less active or non-playful dogs enjoy leash walks for exercise. Everyone's outdoor time averages about 30 minutes, depending on the weather.

4:00 PM
Dinner is served. Again, the same procedure is followed as is for breakfast with puppies eating first. Water bowls are checked and filled.

4:30 PM
Puppies and older dogs that cycle quickly with their bathroom needs are taken out immediately after eating.

5:00 PM
After business hours, guests take advantage of the quiet time to relax indoors. With no dogs checking in or out, guests can turn their attention to their latest chewy, or just curl up for a snooze.

7:30 PM
Last outs begin. Guests are given 15-20 minutes outside to take care of bathroom needs and to socialize one last time before bed. Water bowls are checked and filled. Dogs that require evening medications are taken care of when they come in.

8:30 PM
All dogs, unless on a restricted diet, receive a few of their treats from home to munch before bed.

9:00 PM

LIGHTS OUT!
